Chamaedorea oblongata is found in various regions across Central America. Specifically, it is present in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua. 

Chamaedorea oblongata is a small palm, typically growing to heights of 5 to 10 feet. The ringed trunk is slender, green, and smooth. Typically solitary but can form clusters. It has pinnate leaves, with numerous narrow, oblong, dark green, glossy leaflets arranged along each side of a central stem.

Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. Requires well-draining potting soil. 

Overall, Chamaedorea oblongata is a versatile and attractive palm that is relatively easy to care for, making it a popular choice for both outdoor landscaping and indoor decoration. Compared to other palms, the Chamaedorea oblongata is relatively compact and won't take up too much space, making it a practical choice for apartments or smaller homes.
