Fan Palm or Cabbage Palm
Habitat and Distribution:
Native to Papua New Guinea and Northern Australia
This functionally dioecious palm can grow up to 59 feet in height and has deeply cut, glossy, dark green palmate leaves. The petiole stubs adhering to the trunk give this palm a very unique and beautiful look.
Likes Warm, sheltered, and moist. Prefers rich acidic soil. Easy to grow.
Inflorescence shorter than petioles. It produces very small round black seed.
Cold Hardiness Zone:
One of the best landscape palms. Fares well in less tropical areas. Makes for a very pretty patio specimen when grown in a large planter.
Safely shipped bare or semi-bare root in a sterile medium.
Buyer assumes all risk of plant loss due to buyer's state agricultural regulations and bare root shipping.
