Neoveitchia storckii Palm Tree

Neoveitchia storckii is a stately and endangered palm endemic to the island of Viti Levu, Fiji.

N. storckii is a solitary, stout palm with a beautiful ringed “mocha” colored trunk on an expanded base. It can grow up to 40 feet tall with a full very “leafy” canopy of 12-15 fronds. Fronds of up to 16 feet in length have heavy leaflets that arch out with a characteristic lateral twist. The crown shaft is glossy and nearly black in color.
Neoveitchia storckii is an easy grow, not picky regarding soil and drought tolerant when established.

This palm checks all the boxes, nearly black crownshaft, beautiful mocha colored ringed trunk, large deep green feathery leaflets and an easy grow. A rare and stunning specimen that stands out in a crowd.  An LGF favorite for sure!
